Any repairs or alterations to an ASME stamped boiler or pressure vessel must be performed by an R Stamp Shop to retain the ASME certification. The National Board requires that any shop seeking to receive the R Stamp enter into an Inspection Agreement with an Authorized Inspection Agency with an R Endorsement.
